I am still reeling from the amazing Show Studio fashion film by Ruth Hogben featuring renowned model Crystal Renn-the appetizer to Gareth Pughs Spring/Summer 2012 Collection. It’s like a splash of water in the fash. Not only does it star one of the most talked about models at this moment – but watch carefully and you will catch sight of the custom Purple Minx Nails with a human spine detail, designed carefully by legendary nail artist Marian Newman .
But this was just the warm up! What proceeded on September 28th at the famous venue Garage Turenne in Paris was a force to be reckoned with.
The catwalk exploded into action as the models took to the runway and with each stride….a flash of the Minx.
Marian Newman worked with Minx co-founder Janice Jordan to create custom striped Black and White Minx as well as striped Purple and Matte Silver Minx to adorn the models finger tips and a Purple Minx Nail for the toes. “The stripes complemented the leather cages surrounding the models’ footwear and ensembles,”
The chosen shape?… “Gareth and his stylist, Katie Shillingford, envisioned using a nail shape for the models that would mirror the unique headpieces created for them” explained Marian.
Continuing the Minx effect throughout, the four delicious male models had their fingertips wrapped in the effective and favorite Matte Silver Minx. Simple yet Sharp.
And just when you thought this post could not get any better. Insanely talented makeup artist and visionary Alex Box used sleek and slender strips of Minx to create a disjointed, floating eyeliner for the models – something that has never been seen before!
A cyber space round of applause to Marian and her team of talented nail stylists that assisted in the show include Adam Slee, (from left to right Jane Emerson, Kimberley Casey, MN, The Minxes – Janice Jordan and Dawn Lynch Goodwin & LA’s fabulous Naja Rickette.
