Innovator Fred Butler uses Minx for London Fashion Week Presentation

September 18th brought a kaleidoscope flash of brilliance at Fred Butler’s Spring Summer 2012 collection.

Top UK nail genius Marian Newman led the march to talon heaven along with Kim Howells, Fred’s stylist. The choice? MinxLusion…but with these creative minds at full steam ahead they wanted to add something a little extra to complement the unusual, whimsical muses featured in the collection; little underwater sea creatures!!

“I was first approached by Fred’s stylist, Kim Howells, who sent me a photo of MinxLusion and asked me if I could create that look for the presentation,” said Marian.  “I thought it was quite funny, because Fred first wore MinxLusion years ago at a photo shoot with me, and I took one look at her nails and said ‘My God, what are those??’” laughed Marian.  “She told me it was an exclusive nail fashion from New York, and the rest is history.”

“Kim sent me photos of the sea creatures, and I collaborated with Minx co-founder Janice Jordan who translated them into nail coatings,” explained Marian.  “I then experimented with the MinxLusion coating to add little fins and gills, bringing the nail fashion to life and creating a completely different look for each of the four models at the presentation.”

Inspiring! Vibrant!

Marian also created the Minx nail fashion used in a film that was screened as part of Fred Butler’s presentation on Sunday.  The nails also represent a sea creature, but with a MinxLusion gill ringing the free edge of the nail.  The film is expected to be posted on the www.FredButlerStyle.com Web site, and Marian revealed that Kim texted her after the shoot to say “The nails for Fred looked great on the shoot – wow, everybody died!”
